    Thurlton Parish Council
Having to carry out virtual meetings which seems like forever, we had our first face to face meeting at the Village Hall on the 14th June. Dean Harrison was co-opted and welcomed into one of the vacancies for Councillors. We have an interested party for the second co-opt placement which we hope will come to fruition in July. However, Cllr. Steve Marriage has reluctantly resigned from Council due to additional work pressure in his day job. We thank Steve for his presence and input that he has actively brought to our meetings. This now leaves us with another vacancy. We are interested in anyone, living within a three mile radius of the village, who is interested in what the Parish Council do for the community. No obligation but just contact myself or a Councillor for an informal chat.
Unfortunately, the village has seen an increase of crime and bad behaviour of late. We have been in contact with the Police and are pushing for more police presence in the Village. Thurlton has a very strong community spirit and we therefore ask all to be mindful and look out for each other. We also request that parents speak to their children and young adults regarding respect to others property and feelings.
On a brighter note we hope many will make use of the new bench that has been installed near the adult gym equipment on the playing field in memory of Chris Cook. Heather Longman raised sufficient funds on the sale of items belonging to Chris and a Parish Council work group installed. A plaque will be put on shortly.
