MINUTES of MEETING held on 11th September 2017

  1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE received from J. O’Leary & M. Stone (County Councillor)

  2.  Chairman asked for any declarations of interest. J. Seaward declared an interest in planning application 2017/1971 and S. Hannant declared an interest in the Beccles road development
  • MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS  MEETING held on 14th August 2017 were  agreed as a true representation of meetings

  • COUNTY/DISTRICT COUNCILLORS, COMMUNITY POLICING, LOCAL ORGANISATIONS, CLUBS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES -– REPORTS / INFORMATION.M. Stone (County Councillor) had sent her September report and apologies by e-mailVillage Hall Nothing to report.

 

    1. School John Seaward is monitoring situation on the Parish Councils behalf.
    2.      W. Kemp (District Councillor) had nothing to report
  • MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF P.C. ASSETSQuote for preparation and redecorating of the fencing around Toddler area. £1600 reducing if job finished quicker than estimated received previously. Clerk is investigating the option of sand blasting and powder coating. Awaiting a visit from Beccles company who will quote for removal of fence panels blasting and powder coating and replacement. Benches for the amenity area at top of Links Way have been ordered. Delivery 2 to 3 weeks. Sponsors have paid £200 each to the Parish Council. Sponsors will provide their own memorial plaques.    

 

  1. The removal of telephone box on Beccles Rd should occur after the consultation period ends in December.
  2. Polite signs were fitted asking the users of the playing field to give consideration to their neighbours surrounding the area. These have since been destroyed. Article to newsletter agreed.
  3. Items from this year’s play area inspection include pathway edges and surfacing on toddler area, goal posts etc Quotes received for the resurfacing /repair of the toddler area etc. At a previous meeting, it was agreed to postpone any decision until we receive further infrastructure levy payments from the Beccles Rd development.
  1. HIGHWAY/TRAFFIC CALMING/FOOTPATH MATTERSThis item was not on the Agenda. Clerk apologised and will rectify on next agenda.
  2. To consider any outstanding Highway/Footpath matters
  • PLANNING

 

  1. The planning application 2017/1971 from Mrs McGregor 9, Links Way for an extension was considered. Proposed by J. Lucy seconded by M. Ball that Parish Council approve this application agreed.

Proposed by P. Jackson and seconded by A. Jones that cheque payments be authorised.

The BT Phone and Broadband invoice is the first since the adoption of a single phone line for both Parish Council and Clerk which has resulted in significant savings for both.

  • COMMUNICATION

 

Tree Warden scheme is now organised by a group set up by the original tree wardens. S. Hannant agreed to join this group as our Tree Warden.

Articles for October Newsletter to include Youth Club, playing field notices, dog poo etc
